...t of what Daniel foresaw in his visions: Daniel 7:18 But the holy ones of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess it forever, yes, forever and ever.   But it doesn’t stop there: again in Rev 22 when the holy city is being described in some more detail, John writes that there is a river of “living water” flowing from the throne of God, lined with the Tree of Life on either side, where God’s people “will reign forever and ever” (Rev 22:5). It’s representative of something else; of an earthly reality veiled with symbolic, poetic imagery. We must remember that just because Revelation is highly allegorical and symbolic in its nature, that doesn’t mean it isn’t speaking to real and actual events. It...

Was there death before the Fall?

...cept, as Daniel is the latest book of the Hebrew Bible, and as we get to the 1st Century onwards, all were agreed that there "was no resurrection" - except for the Jews, of course. What we can see in the Resurrection is that God wants us to be with him in a physical sense, not in some disembodied state. Col 1:15-22; Rom 8:19-23) - and not an escape from it! 1 Tim 6:16 tells us that it is God "alone who has immortali...
