Raised in the Heavenlies!

Posted by Luke J. Wilson on 27th March 2016 in Easter | resurrection,jesus,new birth,new life,born again,baptism,spiritual resurrection,physical resurrection,glorified bodies,third day,Easter,easter sunday
...Easter is upon us once again! Lent is over, Good Friday has passed and now the time for mourning and fasting is complete. It's a time to feast, a time to remember and celebrate the resurrection of Christ as we look forward to our own final resurrection! But what really is the resurrection? How will we be resurrected, and what does it mean for us that jesus rose again? Let’s explore what this means for us as Christians, and see what the Scriptures say. The resurrection is spiritual! That heading may cause some reading this to question me, but do read on – this is actually what the New Testament teaches us (though not only this type of resurrection). Many ti...

The Coming of jesus: Our Future Hope - What Now?

Posted by Luke J. Wilson on 22nd January 2016 in Second Coming Series | second coming,70 weeks,70ad,what now?,what next,preterism,fulfilled prophecy,eighth day
...So here we are at the final part of this Coming of jesus series. If you’re new here, you can start from the beginning by clicking here, or carry on reading as I will give a brief overview of what’s been covered so far.   This series has covered many topics and themes of eschatology, starting with Daniel’s prophecy of the Messiah’s first coming to this world, all the way through to the prophecies of another coming. It’s been a very interesting and eye-opening journey of discovery, at least for myself, if no one else. I didn’t start this study with a particular doctrine or conclusion in mind, but rather went in with the minds...

Coffee With jesus: Luke 24

Posted by Luke J. Wilson on 10th February 2023 in Devotional | Coffee with jesus,Road to Emmaus, resurrection, eucharist
...Brief thoughts from daily devotions The road to Emmaus. A familiar story from the Gospel to many, though today as I read it, I noticed some things which I probably glossed over in previous times. At the start of this chapter we see that some of the women who followed jesus had gone to the tomb with spices to prepare the body of jesus, and yet were met with a few surprises: an open, empty tomb and some angels! They ran back to the group of apostles and other disciples to tell the exciting news, and what was their response? “[T]hese words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them.” (v.11). They thought it was nonsense! Probably not the react...

What Really Happened at Nicaea?

My new book is out now!
Myth, History, and the Council That Shaped Christianity

For over 1,700 years, the Council of Nicaea (AD 325) has been burdened with claims that refuse to die. That Emperor Constantine invented the Trinity. That the divinity of Jesus was decided by political vote. That the Bible was assembled to suit imperial power. That Christianity reshaped itself by absorbing pagan ideas.

This book subjects those claims to serious historical scrutiny.
