Evidence of the Trinity in the Hebrew Scriptures

...er of the universe, why do you give herewith an excuse to the sectarians (who believe in the Tri-unity of God).” God answered Moses, “You write and whoever wants to err, let him err.”1 It is obvious that the Midrash Rabbah is trying to simply get around the problem and fails to answer adequately why God refers to Himself in the plural. The use of the plural pronoun can also be seen in: Genesis 3:22: Then the LORD God (YHVH Elohim) said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us…”Genesis 11:7: “Come, let Us go down, and there confuse their language…” Isaiah 6:8: Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who w...

Creedal Christians: Introduction

...er of the universe who has not created me a woman.” (This appears as part of a sequence of blessings found in the Talmud, which men would recite in their morning prayers) There’s also other examples of early New Testament creeds, of various lengths, which can be found in: 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29; Romans 1:3-4; 10:9; 1 Timothy 3:16, 2 Timothy 2:8; and possibly the more well known one, in Philippians 2:6-11. I encourage you to look them up and read them all, as you’ll see that short, statement based clear expressions of doctrine and belief are intertwined with the Scriptures and life of the Church since the very start. Having more formal...

...l end the universe or not.   The world is only a sinking ship if we let it be one, so let us partner with Jesus in the work of reconciliation, helping to bring all things back to God (2 Cor 5:18-19), living in the reality of the eighth day! Man-Made Tradition vs Apostolic Tradition

...ts of the universe, and not according to Christ.   This is often something quoted as a backup to arguing against traditions. Paul’s warnings here are quite valid, we should be careful what we believe and follow as Christians. This is a warning against "man made traditions" but what if I told you that Paul also tells the churches to FOLLOW traditions too? 1 Corinthians 11:2I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions just as I handed them on to you.2 Thessalonians 2:15So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter.2 Thessalo...

The Resurrection as a historical event

Posted by Luke J. Wilson on 29th April 2017 in Easter | resurrection, easter, apologetics, history, historical
...it of the universe, dwells in US! Christians might do all those [good works], but that is not the core of their faith. It is the result of their faith. They do those things as the musician plays music or the athlete plays his sport. They do those things because they are talented and it gives them joy. So the Christian does these good things because he has been filled with the Spirit of the risen Jesus Christ and he does those things with joy because he wants to. [Source: patheos.com] Recently, the Shroud of Turin has been in the news again, as it has been recently authenticated again, which shows that it may not be a medieval forgery or piece of art! If...

Is there salvation for fallen angels?

Posted by Luke J. Wilson on 5th February 2018 in Angels | demons,demonology,fallen angels,salvation,reconcilliation,Christ,angels
...ing of “universe” or “creation” rather than just this planet, but in this context I'm not sure it allows for that scope of reconciliation, given the other passages of scripture we've seen about the rebellious angels (or demons) level of punishment. Either way, Scripture doesn't give us any more information on this topic than that, so anything else would be speculation, but I think we can be reasonably certain that salvation through Christ is only for humans....
